“ They have great food and service. They have good wine selection and knowledgeable staff for pairing wine with the food. One of my go to places for a nice meal. ”
“ My friends and I stopped by Sansonina for an early dinner around 4 PM on MLK Day, and it turned out to be a perfect choice! The restaurant was quiet when we arrived--we were likely the first guests of the evening--and we were immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming waitress who made us feel right at home. The ambiance was beautifully romantic, with soft candlelight setting the tone for a relaxed and upscale dining experience. As for the food, everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I'm still dreaming about the perfectly seasoned meatballs and the rich, creamy lobster ravioli. Pairing our pastas with a glass of Chianti from their decent wine selection was the cherry on top. If you're looking for a cozy yet refined spot for Italian cuisine, I couldn't recommend Sansonina enough. I'll definitely be back to savor more of their menu! ”
“ My second time here and it was a still a great experience as the first one. Unassuming place-- feels so sketchy outside but the inside is inviting. We ordered pasta dishes, salad and dessert. I ordered the Carbonara and fettuccine with chicken -- both were excellent. I ordered 2 meatballs on the side-- didn't expect it to be $15 and I should've ordered the whole dish. They have so many dessert to choose from and the tarte we ordered did not disappoint. The Caesar salad was the only thing that was off. The portion for the size was disappointing for a full price. Especially it's literally lettuce and croutons. It tasted bitter and just underwhelming. However, not a deal breaker for the pastas and the excellent service. Also, it was really weird that my first review was taken off here. I was hoping to do an update. Check out this local hidden gem! ”
“ This is a well-run small business with very attentive and friendly staff. The price point for the dishes makes this place a return-worthy establishment. 1) bruschetta - 3/5. Decent, nothing too special. 2) sautéed calamari - 4/5. Prefer this over fried. But I didn't need the spinach with it. Would've preferred it to be plated by itself. 3) linguine di mare - 3/5. It just had too much sauce. Flavor was fine, but too smothered. A good neighborhood restaurant to frequent for locals. ”
“ The 5 star reviews are accurate; I'd give this place 6 or 7 if I could. As soon as you walk in, you're immersed in beautiful seclusion: lovely lighting, rich velvets and leathers, fine woods, brick and mirrors that keep it intimate but comfortably open. The service is better than I've had at Michelin Star's, everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, my table was subtly cleaned and my water refilled; the attention to the patron is top notch. They make their own pastas, we ordered two dishes and they were excellent. We got caprese as an appetizer; even their house bread was unsuspecting excellent. We got tiramisu for dessert (and a cap for me of course - which I'm snobby about and it passed with flying colors). This location opened just a few years ago, but it originates from a head chef of another popular restaurant and their top talent and it shows in all areas of the dining experience. I'm glad she found this place, wish it was a few states closer! Highly recommended if you're able to come here. ”
“ This place is a gem. It's in a totally weird part of Renton but it's worth it. The ambience is great and the food was delicious. Service was wonderful as well! Would come Back and definitely recommend ”
“ Hidden gem in Renton! Great pasta, service and ambiance! We had the Bruschetta, penne arriabata, and linguine de mare with the spicy saffron marinara sauce. We asked for the Penne to be vegetarian and they were nice enough to serve the sausage on the side as they were going to charge full price although we needed it to be vegetarian. I was able to eat the sausage and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The Linguine was super tasty and had the perfect amount of spice and filled with seafood. For dessert we had the lava cake with ice cream and definitely recommend it. Perfect portion. Service was amazing as well! Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! ”
“ The owner of this place was very animated and welcoming. I was there with a huge group and we occupied the entire place (company function). I was sat on the very lucky table who got their food fairly quickly. The others didn't do so well. By the time we got dessert they were still waiting in their main dish. I think the kitchen is not equipped to serve so many people at the same time and got overwhelmed. So my experience is probably not typical for a regular patron and the good news is that the food is great. And they have a good selection of wines. The restaurant is a hidden gem, not easy to find and in a weird location but if you have the chance you should go. ”
